Oh God, it's such a problem when I forget to empty my camera for a while. Let's play catch-up for the past two weeks, and then I'll post some pictures from last night right after this page.

Two weeks ago to this day was the Old West End Festival. The Festival is a sort of neighborhood-wide garage sale, with any other attractions the residents care to offer. House tours, music, barbecue for sale, and an art fair are a few examples. The picture's of Stacie, who was just there for the garage sales. We got there around noon, and she had already been through the whole place and was getting ready to go home.

Some people have pretty flowers in their yards.

It's also a great place for people-watching. There's my friend Kelly.

These were on an art car in from on Melanie Harris's house. I mentioned Melanie here before, didn't I?

Some of my friends are in one of those neo-traditional bands that are so popular these days, and they were playing. From left to right, that's Luke, Andy, Tosha, Cullen, and two other guys I don't know.

I said we were playing catchup, so you're going to have to deal with some strange segues. This picture is from last Friday, when I went to the park. Two deer, one with fuzzy antlers, were grazing right alongside the boardwalk. I had a thought to jump on one's back and ride into the wilderness, but then I decided not to.

Along the riverbank, I found the remains of some weird crawfish massacre. There were about a dozen dead ones scattered around in the mud. I wonder what that was all about.

On the way home from dinner that evening, I found a sad, cracked bird's egg on the grass. It was heavy and I wondered if there was a half-developed baby bird inside.

Just a yolk though. I guess that's a relief, sort of.

That evening I went to the opening of the Toledo Area Artists exhibit at the museum. I stopped counting people after a squillion. There's my mom.

And hey, my sister!

Across the street from the musuem, a gallery was hosting the salon de refuses. Not acutally refuses, but present anyhow, was my friend Kelly again.

There were what sounded like some good afterparties, but I had to go to bed. The reason is that I was waking up at four in the morning to drive down to Kentucky with my friends Matt and Jason. In Kentucky, they were having a qualifying tournament for this Dungeons & Dragons miniature wargame I play. Matt, Jason and I were touring the tournament circuit, at least within 5-6 hours of driving time. The picture shows Jason, in the lower right, sitting apparetly at the no-hair table.

Jason ended up winning, and I took home third. Poor Matt still needs to qualify for Nationals. We'll try again in a few weeks, in Chicago and then in Southern Ohio. The picture is the main action going on in Jason's final game.

And then we're into this week, Wednesday specifically. I went to see some bands. There's Canada's Electric Tiger Machine.

The singing blur is Garry, the lead singer. I never remember the guitarist's name. Is it actually Ben, like me?

Not in the band is my friend, Dave.

The headliners were The Apes from DC. I liked their show. They had awesome costumes, but not ape costumes.
